Halal Iftar Catering: A Complete Guide
Planning iftar for a group — whether it's 15 family members or 150 community guests — takes careful thought. The food has to be halal (obviously), the portions have to be right, the timing has to be precise, and everything needs to arrive hot and ready when the sun goes down. Pizza might not be the first thing you think of for iftar, but hear us out. It works, and it works well.
Why Pizza Works for Iftar
Iftar is communal. People gather, share food, and eat together. Pizza is inherently a sharing food — you put it in the center of the table and everyone grabs a slice. There's no plating, no serving line drama, no complicated setup. It accommodates different tastes (vegetarians, meat lovers, picky kids) with variety. And it arrives hot, ready to eat — no reheating, no assembly required.
- Communal by nature: Pizza is shared food. Place it on the table and everyone serves themselves.
- Variety built in: Order three or four different types and everyone finds something they love.
- No setup required: Open the boxes, set out plates and napkins, done.
- Universally loved: Kids, adults, elders — pizza crosses every age group.
- Pairs perfectly: Serve alongside dates, water, soup, and salad for a complete iftar spread.
Iftar-Ready Catering
Forni offers halal catering timed for iftar. Tell us the sunset time, your headcount, and your location — we'll handle the rest. Every ingredient is 100% halal with zero cross-contamination.
How Much to Order
Portion planning depends on whether pizza is the main dish or part of a larger spread. Here's our guidance from hundreds of catering orders:
- Pizza as the main dish: Plan for 4-5 slices per adult, 2-3 per child. For a group of 20 adults, that's about 10-13 large pizzas.
- Pizza as part of a spread (with soup, salads, dates, sides): Plan for 2-3 slices per adult, 1-2 per child. For 20 adults, that's about 6-8 large pizzas.
- Always order one extra pizza. Iftar gatherings tend to draw more people than expected.
- Mix your order: 60% crowd-pleasers (Margherita, Pepperoni, Cheese) and 40% specialty (Mediterranean, BBQ Chicken, Veggie).
Forni's 100% Halal Promise
This matters. Halal isn't just a menu label at Forni — it's everything. Every protein we source is halal-certified. There is no non-halal meat in our kitchen, period. No cross-contamination risk, no "halal options" mixed in with non-halal items. When you order from us for iftar, you're ordering from a kitchen where everything — the pepperoni, the chicken, the gyro meat, the steak — is halal. Your guests can eat with complete peace of mind.
Halal isn't an option on our menu — it's our entire menu. Every ingredient, every protein, every dish. When you cater iftar with Forni, there's zero compromise and zero doubt.

Ramadan Catering Tips
Timing Is Everything
Order delivery for 15-20 minutes before iftar time. People will break their fast with dates and water first, then move to the main food. Having the pizza arrive slightly early means it's at perfect eating temperature when everyone's ready — not cold because it arrived too early or late because it arrived at sunset.
Set up a simple buffet: dates and water at one end, soup or salad in the middle, pizza boxes open at the far end. Label the pizzas (especially if you have vegetarian or spicy options). Have napkins and plates at both ends of the table so people don't have to crowd one area.
